Alpine milk - a story of success

The year 1967 is the year the Alpine milk was “born”, and in more than 3 decades it became a synonym for quality long life milk. It was the first milk of its kind in Slovenia and, of course, the entire Yugoslavia. The consumption of such milk kept increasing and completely dissipated the fear of new product designers of Ljubljanske mlekarne at the time. They feared the product might not be interesting enough for the market. In July 1998 the billionth litre of the Alpine milk was produced. A year before the production line for long life products was completely overhauled with the introduction of the state-of-the-art processing technology and new filling machines. An older generation might remember that the Alpine milk was at first available in half-litre packaging in the shape of a pyramid; in 1997 we started to produce it in a modern Tetra Pak packaging with a practical closure. The Alpine milk remains the most popular product of our dairy, and its practical characteristics made it a very popular product all over Slovenia and outside our borders.
